ideas are blossoming at Four Winds! Our interests in Holistic Education
and Health and Sustainable Living come together in unique ways.
Currently our activity is centered on:
GET INVOLVED!!
- The Living Learning
Collaborative at Four Winds Farm is our unique educational
and wholistic healing community that fosters a strong sense of
meaning and purpose through experiential learning.
- Keep an eye out for our new program - JourneyYear-
a concentrated learning adventure designed to immerse ALL of you
in a journey that inspires , connects, and matters-- and you are
the author of this endeavor. Similar to a GAP year, it is
designed for students who really want to go for the gusto and
get out of the four walls of a classroom and really learn all
about life!The idea is so great that the adults want
to participate too, so our creative juices are flowing to make
that happen!
- ENTHEOS!,
a program of inspiration for teachers. Never before has there
been such a need for teachers to have a space for reflection and
renewal as the demands of the world increasingly challenge them
and their students. How do teachers sustain their work and
what they know to be true, while evolving to best serve their
students and their own growth?
- Four Winds Farm is our 23 acre
teaching and learning site. Its a place to explore, discover,
and express...with Nature and each other. Opportunities
abound to develop a sense of place and a sense of self as well
as to experience healing through classes in nutrition, energy
work, gardening, dialogue and connection. Come for a visit!
- GATE is the activist
portion of our passion for education! We seek to share the GATE
vision with everyone who cares about the changing needs of a changing
world and our children.
Current efforts revolve around a new model for education to replace
NCLB. see: www.definegreat.ning.org. Also, Four Winds is
pleased to be working collaboratively with Orion Society and Katzoff
Productions on a WHOLE CHILD EDUCATION initiative. Our vision
is to help parents and schools revitalize the children's education
by engaging them through creative activities, nature, movement,
social/community involvement and academics so that full, joyous
learning and expression is fostered.
- Dialogue is about
people talking and listening with one another about what matters
to them. It is about learning from each other and from our selves
as we seek to discover how and why we think the way we do, expanding
our understanding of each other, ourselves and the world. It provides
a place for collective wisdom to emerge and serves as one of the
fundamental practices that we esteem at Four Winds.
Can we learn to see ourselves,each other and life through the
eyes of a greater intelligence?
